Newcastle 2-2 Town Sat 16th Mar 2002 18:22 An Alan Shearer penalty in time beyond the three minutes added on by referee Mike Riley threatened to give all the points to Newcastle from an exciting game at St James' Park. Fortunately for Town, Shearer put his kick wide of the post and a point was the least Town deserved after a battling display had twice seen them ahead through Marcus Bent. That the penalty had been awarded for an obvious dive by Clarence Acuna would have added extra salt to the wound, had Shearer scored. |

Nielsen Link Tue 30th Jan 2001 16:04 It seems it is going to be one of those weeks with Town now linked to FC Copenhagen striker David Nielsen. Everton 0 - 3 Ipswich Town Sat 30th Sep 2000 18:00 Town marched to perhaps their most impressive result of the season so far as they beat Everton 3-0 at Goodison Park. Despite the very poor nature of the opposition, Town were very impressive, defending when it was required, passing well and taking chances when they were there. |
